Four years of schooling at Lesley University has taught me a lot. However, the only thing I can say I really remember well, and actually put to practice is the importance of self care. My school was very big on taking care of yourself and making sure you are taken care of before you go out and try to work, study, or take care of others. I learned that if you aren’t at your best, you can’t do your best. Your physical and your mental health should be equal and are very very important factors in your day to day life. duh! Sundays are my day to make sure Im good. I go to church in the morning and in the evening. Between that time, I do things such as either take a nap, eat my favorite meal, watch a movie, take a long bath or shower, or go shopping! These are all things I like to do during my Sundays to wind down from my long week and prepare for the week ahead. Sometimes writing is really good too and not just typing and posting a blog like I am doing now, but actually getting out a pen and paper and just writing. No meaning or direction, just writing till the page is full.
Whats your day for self care. It doesn’t always have to be a full day, it could be an hour a day where you can block out everything thats going on and find your “Zen” as some may call it. This is my time to find inspiration and motivation. Saying that makes me think: Maybe I will make a dream board, or an inspiration board with all my thoughts and goals for the upcoming year. That would be fun to have for the beginning of the new year to remind my self through out the year of all my goals and to keep me motivated to reach those goals.
Blogging and trying to build my career as a social media fashion influencer is hard! It can be very discouraging and a lot of times it feels like it would be a whole lot easier just to give up and move on. I think, maybe it would be easier to give up instead of failing. I know I probably shouldnt be saying any of this, but I’m just trying to be as truthful as possible with you guys. Anyways, my point of this post was to stress to myself and to you guys how important it is to take care of your selves. I hope you all are enjoying your few days before Christmas! This holiday season is always so beautiful. As much as I hate the cold, I love how aesthetically pleasing it is with the fluffy snow. May God Bless you and keep you all this season.
